New Normal 

Ongoing series of pencil on paper drawings, all 85 x 116 cm. From top to bottom: New Normal #1 to New Normal #14. Further drawings in process.   

Based on a naive drawing style I used to work with 30 years ago, these series is a sort of ellipse in time. But the whole naivety is crushed through the analytic hatches I have been working with since 2007. No emotion is just an emotion, it is also the negation of itself.     

We care so much about ourselves. Our loves, our passions, our beliefs, our convictions. We know everything, and for sure we know it better than the others.

Meanwhile just 1000 kilometers away thousands of people are killing each other every day.

It is simply the New Normal.
